The Caleb Avery Band
The Caleb Avery Band formed in a Nashville garage in 2018 when Caleb Avery — then a worship leader at a 300-seat church — met drummer Marcus Bell at a songwriters round. Within six months they had added bassist Levi Cruz, lead guitarist Theo Park, and keys player Jamie Reiner. The band's sound is anthemic and arena-ready, with cinematic builds and stadium-sized hooks, but Caleb's songwriting keeps them tethered to the local church. They are known for songs that sound equally at home in a Sunday service and a sold-out amphitheater. Caleb, the frontman and primary songwriter, is a pastor's kid from Tulsa whose father taught him guitar on a beat-up Yamaha when he was nine. He also maintains a stripped-down solo acoustic project called Caleb Avery: Upper Room Sessions, recorded live in borrowed churches and living rooms.
